First of all, I purchased this for every day use in mainland China, where PM levels reached a horrendous 1000+ some days (150 is considered hazardous). I tested it right away, by striking a match, and by waving a lemon before it - I could immediately smell both fumes strongly, which shows that this filter is not effective. (With a larger heavy duty respirator, both of these tests result in no smell of fumes at all). Also, it is quite a large mask - looks like a big diaper on my face. And, breathing through it smelled strongly of PVC and plastic - Very unpleasant and uncomfortable overall. Not recommended for daily use in China.
