3M 8247HA1-A Workshop Odor Respirator Review

I love this mask! And I want the world to know it.

It's not well described on Amazon, or even on the 3M package. It is much BETTER and more versatile than the large print lets on. Besides protection against shop dust, spray paint dust and odors, it is great for working outdoors in allergy season, against mold spores, and against dust. I've used the mask for over two years, and wouldn't be without it. When I go out to mow or prune and suddenly find myself coughing uncontrollably, I run back for the mask to get nearly instant relief.

When I needed to attack (i.e. repair and regrout) a horribly moldy shower floor, this mask may well have saved me from a fungal infection, because my shop vacuum was pumping nasty stuff into the air.

The maker does list all these uses, and more, in fine print, inside the package. I don't know why they keep it such a secret, unless it's to protect the sales of the much more expensive 3M 6291 HEPA Respirator which will make you look like some sort of bug.

The fancier mask may do a better job, but so far, I've been totally happy with this unit which has been comfortable, effective, and long-lasting.
