i had severe pains in my right wrist due to my keyboard arrangement, to the point where it was painful even trying to put my hand in my pocket after a day's worth of work. i had an older wrist brace picked from walgreens (generic brand) that actually seemed to make things worse for me. This wrist brace really helped me. it fit me perfectly, and i wore it straight for about a week. it gave good support to my wrist without being too tight to cut off circulation. Also, the materials on the inside are very comfortable. there is a cushion at the palm / wrist with helps immobilize the wrist, without putting any pressure on the lower part of the joint. Typically, i would normally try to rest my palm against the table surface or the keyboard support, leading to the problem. the cushion on the palm + the shape of the lower wrist plate creates a gap at the joint relieving the pressure while keeping it in a safe position.

there are two shaped metal strips in the brace to provide it the necessary firmness and support: one on the top, and one on the bottom. These can be removed via the unobtrusive black flaps at the lower end of the brace (e.g. for washing). the overall outer material feels like a faux wool blanket / carpet material and is actually the the "fuzzy" part of the velcro. this is pretty neat because the straps can be adjusted to portion of the brace and will accommodate all hand shapes (for a given size). hand "size" is in terms of distance between wrist joint and middle of the palm. however, for a given wrist size, hands can be fatter or thinner and this is where the large adjustable area of the brace helps. i have smallish hands so i can bring in the straps to make it tighter, and then can loosen them at might to allow for circulation.

inside material is comfortable, if a bit warm. i think the warmth helps with the circulation also, though in hotter environments it makes perspire around the hand. i tend to take the brace off for a few hours just to air it.

overall, pretty impressed with this ACE / 3M product. and am buying one for my left hand also (just in case).
