Hi-Vis Thermal Waterproof Gloves: Ultimate cold weather glove. 3M Thinsulate insulation and Hipora insert liner.ProFlex 876WP Hi-Vis Thermal Waterproof Gloves Review
As a volunteer rescuer I have always liked the Ergodyne Proflex line of hand protection; the 876WP Hi-Vis gloves are the quailty I require at a reasonable price point. The Thinsulate insulation makes this one of the least bulky thermal/waterproof work gloves I've purchased in my search for a glove to be used for water and ice rescues and general work in the winter and rain. The synthetic leather fingers and palm are covered with textured PVC panels for wear resistance and grip when wet. The PVC panels are articulated allowing the wearer to close their hand around a tool or rope or climb a ladder with ease. Most importantly, these gloves are comfortable, they will keep your hands warm and dry without being too bulky to be comfortable or making it difficult to work. The combination of 40g Thinsulate and Hipora liners means that they can be worn in warmer weather without becoming too hot, yet they kept my hands warm on a day with a below zero wind chill.
The only negative is that the fingertips are boxy, not rounded like mechanics gloves, making fine manipulation difficult although most work can be conducted with little problem.
Pros:
Waterproof/insulated
PVC "armor" on palms and fingers, articulated at joints
Light and comfortable
Pullstrap for use in donning gloves
Velcro wrist closure is on the back fo the wrist and stays securely fastened while working
Hipora lining provides an OSHA compliant barrier against Bloodborne Pathogens
Cons:
Fingertips are boxy, negatively impacting dexterity
There are fabric strips on the knuckles, I would have added rubber pads to protect knuckles
