I did not expect steero-beams, but it sure makes these more versatile. The lenses are neutral clear plastic, with a smallish 20% magnification area. Not a wide field of vision, either. In the looks department, the full effect is like a cross between Easy Rider's Peter Fonda, and that French dirt dude ("Mole"?) from Atlantis. Striking. The lights are a useful hue and intensity for night reading/fishing/surgery, emergency electronics repair, dank plumbing, and eery nighttime roadside repairs. I can only certify suitability for those applications.
