ACE TekZone Deluxe Wrist Brace LG/XL Right Hand #207741 Review

I was looking for a wrist brace that immobilized motion downwards AS WELL as upwards, and this brace does just that.

This one braces the top and bottom of your wrist, and does a fantastic job of immobilizing it. It's very comfortable, and though another reviewer experienced a "rash" from it, I've not experienced this problem, and I've been wearing it for over a month. Apparently if you have sensitive skin to any degree, you might want to look elsewhere.

There's a gel pad on the palm, so the bottom brace doesn't press too hard when you move your hand around. Most other braces tend to "dig" into my wrist, so this was a nice inclusion.

Of course, your palm sweats with this brace on. After about a week, it will probably have an odor. You can wash it with regular pump hand soap, and dry it in front of a fan. I wouldn't consider the cleaning process a hassle, but it does tend to smell like an old bandage if you don't do it once a week.

Overall, I couldn't recommend this brace more. One more plus, this brace looks cool. It's not "flesh" colored, and for some reason, I liked the black and gray color scheme.

Bought two. Both lenses had a lot of chipping around the lense edges. One was much worse that the other. My welding goggles have a large rim, so it covers most of the chips.

The delivery box had no glass chips in it, so this damage was obviously done are the factory, probably during the cutting process.

I was given a similar item, a Japanese "shower cap" that had the lining that needed to be soaked as well, worked well with the exception that it was too tight overall. So I decided to try this out and....

PROs:
--Good quality skullcap
--Does hold the water in as promised
--Able to adjust the tightness
--Large size is adjustable (just let the extra cloth lay on your head)

CONs:
--I have tried this for about a month bicycling in up to 95 degrees of heat. When used with cold water (ice it!), it does appear to stay cool. However, the wet part of it, prevents a headband area of your head from breathing, and as the ride goes longer (over 1 hour), it actually does feel warm. Why I am not sure is that I am not sure if this or just a well ventilated helmet would be a better solution. And I had the same experience trying to do some yardwork with it as well
--Looking like a pirate riding around (even with the helmet on top!)
--Does add to the thickness around your head

UPDATE: Tried it bicycling again, tried various heights (from hairline to just above the eyebrows, then just with the helmet, and a well-ventilated helmet wins easily. I would not use this for bicycling, maybe for short-term relief with yardwork or other outdoor activities, but I would keep a cool water source nearby to keep it cool as well. Thus, it may not be practical for whole day things, unless that humid feeling makes you happy.

I travel quite a bit, and am totally OCD, so I wear ear plug to bed every night...I know, odd. That being said, these are the most comfortable ear plug I have found. Worth the extra cash IMO. Not great for heavy duty sound protection, but very comfortable and effective enough to mute annoying hotel sounds.

Youngstown Glove 03-3200-78-S Anti-Vibe XT Performance Glove Small Review

After 15-30 min of using one of my power tools w/o gloves, my hands get all numb or tingly for several minutes. I just recently used these gloves with that tool and they DO help... but they aren't perfect. After 15-30 min. WITH the gloves, my finger tips still get a bit tingly, but it is MUCH, MUCH better than without. Take a look at the product picture. You'll see some nice padding in the palm and a small spot on the thumb. These work great. I'd like to see more of this same padding on the fingers and a bit more at the base of the thumb. I imagine that would decrease the dexterity, but for my uses, that would be fine.

Bottom line:
* Very comfortable fit
* Uses double stitches--looks very durable
* Noticeable improvement over no gloves
* Dexterity is more than adequate for my uses
* I'd like to find ones with more padding in the fingers. I doubt any gloves will completely eliminate the vibration shock to my hands, but I think I'll continue looking. If you have a recommendation, please add a comment, below :)

These lasted one day. Actually about 5 hours before they very think and soft leather between the palm pads ripped.

They also run very large. I bought a size smaller than normal and they still felt very loose.

Smart Glove Medium, up to 3 3/4" Review

I'd first gotten the Small size and had to re-order the XS. These run large. I usually take a medium or large glove size because of the length of my fingers, but my wrists are small and fine-boned. This isn't a stiff brace, it's more for a little extra support. If you need a stiff brace, keep looking. But if you need something to help alleviate pain, or prevent it, this might help. The brace is reversible, making it work for either hand. The floppy "brace" that removes so you can wash the brace isn't really stiff, and it rests on the top of the hand. Under the heel of your palm is a bead-filled pouch, like a mouse wrist brace. That's where this helps me the most. I pulled out the brace piece and hand-washed with no problem.

If you need a firm brace because of severe pain, this isn't for you. If you're trying to prevent pain or nerve damage in the first place, or just have occasional minor pain, then you might want to give this a try. But go to the manufacturer's website and look at their measuring guide carefully. If you're on the cusp of two sizes, or very close to a lower size, go with the lower size.
